Ben Dunn’s WARRIOR NUN Is Going To Netflix

Warrior Nun

You might recall that Ben Dunn’s graphic novel, Warrior Nun, was once the subject of a hopeful crowdfunding effort led by Jade Soturi helmer A.J. Anilla. That was back in October of 2015 and assuredly enough time has elapsed for things to shift some as hinted in a new announcement from Netflix for its adaptation – now home for a ten-episodic development.

Inspired by the Manga novels, Warrior Nun revolves around a 19 year-old woman who wakes up in a morgue with a new lease on life and a divine artifact embedded in her back. She discovers she is now part of an ancient order that has been tasked with fighting demons on Earth, and powerful forces representing both heaven and hell want to find and control her.

Simon Barry (Ghost Wars, Continuum) will serve as writer and showrunner, as well as executive produce with Stephen Hegyes (White Noise, 50 Dead Men Walking). Amy Berg (Counterpart, Da Vinci’s Demons) will serve as consulting producer with Terri Hughes Burton (The 100, Eureka) co-exec producing.
