Ben Young’s Sci-Fi, EXTINCTION, Casts Michael Peña

As far as aliens go, there’s nothing stopping them from taking over Earth and chewing through anything in their path… though not if Michael Peña has anything to say about it. Word via Deadline writes the Ant-Man and Fury co-star is currently set to star in the new sci-fi thriller, Extinction, for Good Universe and Mandeville Films which is currently being set up to present for buyers in Berlin.

Peña will star as a man who discovers a unique strength to protect his family in the wake of a brutal invasion that threatens to make his worst nightmares come true. Ben Young, whose 2016 crime pic, Hounds Of Love, became a festival favorite in Venice that year, is directing from a script by Spenser Cohen, Brad Caleb Kane and Arrival scribe Eric Heisserer. Mandeville’s Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman are producing the film with Alexander Young executive producing next to Nathan Kahane and Joe Drake from Good Universe, and Erin Westerman overseeing. Anna Halberg will serve as co-producer.
Peña will next be seen in U.S. theaters this Friday in director John Michael McDonagh’s War On Everyone while moviegoers can set their calendars for the March 24 release of co-star Dax Shepard’s TV adaptation, CHIPS.
