Geek Tyrant took to its readers on Thursday to share what most Trekkies have been expecting now, given some of the tell-tale signs that have been roaming for sometime now regarding the upcoming release of Star Trek: Into Darkness.

According to the article citing a statement from Furious Fanboys, following a screening of the film in Austrailia this week, it has been reported that actor Benedict Cumberbatch, playing the enigmatic villain known only so far until today as John Harrison is actually a reprisal of the character, Khan from the 1982 film, Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan.

Benedict Cumberbatch is playing Khan in Star Trek Into Darkness. All that bullshit of him not being Khan and really ‘John Harrison’ was just a cover to hide the truth from moviegoers. Oh, he does go by ‘John Harrison’ in the movie…but that’s not his real name. He reveals his name to Kirk later in the movie.

The character was originally played by the late actor, Ricardo Montalban, who passed away at the age of 88 in January of 2009. The character was known in the classic film as a genetically enhanced superhuman whose lust for vengeance against Kirk was driven by the death of his own family.
