Director Vikramaditya Motwane’s new movie, Bhavesh Joshi Superhero, launched its first teaser back in late April, and you’re forgiven for believing it delivers the film’s tone in full. It’s a much darker venture while not too heavily vested in revealing the actor’s face; much of the film’s obscurity is replaced with tropes attributed to a brutal vigilante action movie that looks pretty pleasing.
Fast forward to Wednesday and courtesy of Eros International, an official trailer came and delved fully further into the narrative, revealing itself as something almost entirely different at first with an array of gags stemming from a story about a masked vigilante whose crime fighting feats go viral. Good intentions aside, it turns out he and his friends are clearly way in over their heads as hinted prior to the trailer’s gradual pivot from silly and comical to brooding, explosive and downright awesome in its delivery.
Bhavesh Joshi Superhero is an action film about a young man who wants to continue doing the right and challenge the wrong. And on this journey, he discovers that he’s destined to do bigger things, which will transform him from a common man into a Superhero.
Harshvardhan Kapoor stars front and center here for the film’s May 25 release and looks like a splashy, fun and fantastic thriller that brings some variety to our current comic book movie milleu. Peep the official trailer now.
