Bill Goldberg, Fred Williamson And More Line Up At Thomas J. Churchill's CHECK POINT!

Actor and director Thomas J. Churchill (Emerging Past, Lazarus: Day of the Living Dead) has taken his craft in the field of horror and suspense into Wilmington, North Carolina as of Monday for the production of his new film, Check Point. The film boasts a prominent cast of actors, including several that many moviegoers will recognize, with actor William Forsythe in the lead as a small town sheriff whose apprehension of a drifter segways his inquiry into the gruesome and supernatural.

The plot is a little vague in terms of twists which does make things a little more interesting as things thicken, and so I do have my own ideas of where this could go. At any rate though, the cast roster, led by Forsythe and actor Kenny Johnson, is almost literally a who’s-who in cult fandom, including Metal Hurlant Chronicles and Mortal Kombat Legacy 2 co-star, actress Michelle Lee actor, one-time WCW champion Bill Goldberg, blaxploitation era legend and action star Fred Williamson, actor Mel Novak from director Nickolas Nielsen’s upcoming Bruceplotation documentary, actor, stuntman and stunt coordinator Kane Hodder of Friday The 13th fame and X-Men and Troy co-star Tyler Mane.

SYNOPSIS:

During a routine camp out, a local vagrant discovers plans for an invasion in America. When he tries to notify the local Sheriff about his discovery, the Sheriff dismisses his claims and has him locked up for loitering. When the Sheriff notices odd interactions with other towns folk he begins to look into the vagrants’ claim of a sleeper cell living among the locals within this small town. After evidence of a beheading is exposed, others begin to fear that the insurgents attack on hometown USA. Questions and tempers begin to rise. Why this little beach community with it’s Norman Rockwell way of life? A town where everyone knows one another… or so they thought. When the truth is blind and justice seems lost, It will take an army of five unlikely heroes banding together to infiltrate the insurgents and foil their invasion plans. War is Hell and Hell comes home at the Check Point.

David M. Parks is producing with Churchill with A.J. Perez serving as executive producer along with Niko Foster who co-stars. Also rounding out the cast are Ricky Harris, Mindy Robinson, Stephen Geoffreys and Krista Grotte for a release expected sometime in 2016. Updates on the film’s progress can be seen via the film’s official Facebook fan page.
