BLACK AND BLUE: Deon Taylor’s NOLA Cop Thriller Fills Its Cast

Traffik helmer Deon Taylor is setting up to direct Black And Blue, starring Naomie Harris, for Screen Gems according to Amanda N’Duka’s exclusive coverage at Deadline.

The Pirates Of The Caribbean and 007 franchise co-star of late is also to be joined by upcoming Donnybrook, Boss Level and Point Blank star Frank Grillo, as well as Reid Scott (Veep), Beau Knapp (Destroyer) and Tyrese Gibson. Sony’s Screen Gems is housing the production from a script by Peter A. Dowling.

Harris will play a rookie NOLA cop framed for the murder of a drug dealer and pursued by both sides of the law when when her body cam footage catches the corrupt narcs responsible prior to falling to execute her as well.

A seperate report for Black And Blue over at The Hollywood Reporter notes that Gibson, who will rejoin the ensemble for the ninth installment of the Fast And Furious saga ahead of its April 10, 2020 release, will star an artist who pairs up with Harris’ role to help deliver justice.

Sean Sorensen is producing for Royal Viking Entertainment with Taylor’s Hidden Empire Film Group banner whose Roxanne Avent will serve as exec producer. Eric Paquette is overseeing for Screen Gems.

Taylor’s next release isn’t too far off with The Intruder opening on May 3.
