BLIND WOLF Reteams The Minds Behind ‘Kill Fist’ And Upcoming ‘Exiled’ For Singapore Assassin Thriller Production In November

Consider this a heads-up if you’re eagerly awaiting the latest on Singaporean actor Sunny Pang. With Gareth Evans’ Havoc on deck from Netflix, the actor is now suiting up as a blind government assassin in Ranjeet Marwa’s Blind Wolf which rolls cameras this November in Singapore.

The two previously worked on Marwa’s dystopian survival thriller, Exiled: The Chosen Ones, which is still par for a Southeast Asian release this year. Formerly known as Blind Rage, the film also marks a reunion for Pang and Malaysian filmmaker James Lee whose script will drive the story; Lee has worked with Pang on multiple occasions, namely 2012 action comedy, The Collector, and 2019 martial arts thriller, Kill-Fist.

The update also comes a few years after we broke the news a few Decembers ago, describing the overall vision and tone as a cross between The Equalizer, Marvel’s Daredevil and the 1980 jidaigeki classic, Shogun Assassin. Marwa showed me a teaser image which you can view below, as well as a brief proof action pitch on Monday and the inspiration is definitely there, though more prevalently with Pang’s performance as inspired by the likes of past actors who’ve coveted the role of legendary samurai Zatoichi; Rutger Hauer’s performance in Blind Fury also comes to mind, but that’s on blind swordsman fandom as I write all this.

Plot details remain unseen to the otherwise naked eye, though what remains is that Pang will play a blind, unassuming character who serves as a government assassin. Further casting details remain pending, while you can certainly expect that Pang will be joining up with the locals of his Ronin Action Team to bring the cinematic pain.

Marwa will produce out of his Rocket Sky High Motion Pictures Ltd. label next to Djonny Chen of Silent D Pictures. Joining the above in the producing ranks is Barry Nash, as well as actor Warren Hicks who stars in Marwa’s last completed thriller, Dig Me No Grave.

I get that you’re probably irked behind not having seen Kill-Fist or Exiled yet, but that’s all on the market and how these sales companies operate as there’s no telling when or where these films will pop up. In the meantime, I did say there was a teaser image of Pang in blind assassin form for this newest from Marwa, and…I’m curious!

NOTE: A previous version of this article has since been corrected regarding the title of the film.
