BLOOD FATHER Sees Mel Gibson Protecting His Daughter In The First Trailer

News on Assault On Precinct 13 helmer Jean-Baptiste Richet’s latest, Blood Father, has been hard to come by since the film’s production in 2014. Thankfully, the film, based on screenwriter Peter Craig’s own 2005 novel of the same name, already bares a few homes in select territories – namely Lionsgate in the U.S., and over in Australia where Icon Distribution has finally dated its own release of the film on August 25.

For this, we get Mel Gibson in a grisled return to the screen next to Erin Moriarty, Diego Luna, Michael Parks, William H. Macy, Dale Dickey and Thomas Mann. You can catch them all in the first trailer below sampling Richet’s latest for none other than what looks like a riveting story of redemption soaked in just the right amount of bullets and heroic bloodshed, and a role that clearly fits an actor like Gibson at his continual finest.
