'I'M BORED.': Fmr. Expendable Cast Member Bruce Willis As Part Three Moves To Bulgaria

Headlines continue to drive internet traffic for action fans looking to keep up with the latest on what is happening with the upcoming filming of The Expendables 3 starting next week in Bulgaria. Ironically, it seems as if it won’t be long before action fans won’t have to keep up with Hollywood action hero Bruce Willis, according to recent statements the actor made in an interview with XLS magazine, forwarded by Expendables Premiere.

“Explosions are one of the most boring parts of the my job.” he says. “When you’ve seen a few fireballs, it’s not exciting any more. I know part of my audience enjoys the explosions, but to be honest, I’m a bit bored of it now.” He also adds, “I work in all sorts of films, but the action movies are the ones that generate the most revenue. I like to earn lots of money from those, but I do all types: small productions, mega-projects, medium-sized, even science fiction.”
The statement comes after Willis, who previously appeared in The Expendables and The Expendables 2, made headlines this month after having fallen out with action star and Expendables lead actor, Sylvester Stallone, who tweeted his disappointment on Twitter or Willis’s $4 million dollar payday for a 4-day shoot. In a recent statement to the press regarding the issue upon arriving to Bulgaria over the weekend, Stallone stated, “Look, I love Bruce. Just this time it didn’t work, but I think Harrison Ford, Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes. . . Will be much better. ”
Stallone and company are currently making way to the Southeastern country between now and September to begin filming The Expendables 3 for a theatrical release exactly one year from today. Ender’s Game co-star Harrison Ford was also attached to the film, in addition to Machete Kills actor Mel Gibson. Other actors mentioned (some who still need confirmation), include Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Antonio Banderas, Jet Li, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Mickey Rourke, Kellan Lutz, Milla Jovivich, Wesley Snipes and Jackie Chan, in addition to actor and newcomer Glen Powell, and pro-fighters Victor Ortiz and newly-announced Fast And Furious 7 co-star, Ronda Rousey.
The Expendables 3 will be directed by Patrick Hughes from a script by David McCallum and Sylvester Stallone for an August 15, 2014 release.
Bruce Willis currently stars in Red 2 from director Dean Parisot, with with Red 3 also in the works if it stays on track. Willis is also set to return to the Die Hard franchise in an upcoming sixth film. But given what Willis said, he doesn’t seem that all interested in doing action films anymore. (Which probably explains my first theatrical experience watching a Die Hard movie.)
I’m a little uncertain about Willis. It’s up to him, of course, and you can’t argue with a person who wants to make changes in their life if they feel they have met their goals and need a change. In a way, I certainally know the feeling, considering this blog isn’t my day job, as much as I wish it was, lol. Given all that and more, what do you guys think?
QUESTION: How do you feel about Willis’s latest statements? And will you still go and support another Bruce Willis action movie if he stars in one? Let us know your thoughts on Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest!
