Brothers Reunite In The Heat Of Battle In MORTAL ENEMIES

If you feel like it has been a really long time since we have seen or heard from martial arts action star Robin Shou, you’re probably not just at all alone in that sentiment. The last I’ve known of him personally were his appearances in Street Fighter: The Legend Of Chun-Li, and all three Death Race movies (the last two going straight to DVD).

Internationally, Shou also starred in a 2011 film titled Pirate Brothers, the latest from Indonesian filmmaker Asun Mawardi and also starring Capoiera expert Imd Verdy Bhawanta, Marcio Fernando Da Silva, Karina Nadila, Andrew Lincoln Suleiman and Yayu Unru. After its domestic premiere on May 26, 2011, the bilingual action thriller began hitting the film festival circuit, and even earned a Platinum Remi Award at the 45th annual Worldfest Houston International Film Festival just last year. And that’s all that was really known of it within the last two years, until this week, with word from City On Fire that the film has finally found its new North American home at Lionsgate under the title, Mortal Enemies.
The film has a new trailer, with a North American release date set for February 18, 2014. Check it out below.
Good to see you back Robin.
SYNOPSIS:

Orphans Sunny and Verdy are like brothers, but are separated when Verdy is adopted by a wealthy couple. Their paths cross again when Verdy (now a successful businessman) and his fiancée are kidnapped by a crew of pirates while on vacation. With the ransom set, Verdy is reunited with his long lost friend – who, it appears, has joined the pirates. Will they be able to come together to prove that brothers don’t always have to share blood?
