Cecily Fay Returns In The New Teaser For BABES WITH BLADES: FLOWER OF SARNIA

With the most recent local release of director Ross Boyask’s fantasy action thriller, Warrioress, actress, producer, martial artist and action auteur Cecily Fay has become a growing beacon for fans of the genre hailing from the UK. The film was largely produced and shot on a zero budget and completed only through faith and boundless effort, and for this, the film has become a critical success among followers as the wheels began spinning for Fay‘s next stellar endeavor in martial arts action cinema, Babes With Blades: Flower Of Sarnia.

Based on Fay‘s popular stage show of the same name, principal photography began back in 2013 in the bowels of an old Victorian Steel smelting factory to accomodate its steampunk setting. As with Warrioress, Babes With Blades: Flower Of Sarnia is continuation of Fay‘s cinematic agenda which sets the stage for thrilling and original stories to illustrate strong female characters, in addition to hosting some of the most substantive action choreography ever performed on screen, and if you’ve seen Warrioress, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. And as a kind reward for our enduring patience, we finally have a full teaser that hits all the right notes to gin up some much-deserved excitement!

SYNOPSIS:

The story is set on the dark streets of the planet Draiga, against the backdrop of enormous rusting steel smelting machinery, neon lit walkways and vast industrial halls. Azura is the last of the Sarnians who were once a fearsome Warrior race. Her home world, once a beautiful haven, is now a lifeless husk after the Visray Empire destroyed it when she was a child, and captured her and her friend Tallarin.

Azura manages to escape and survives to adulthood on the streets of the human colony on Draiga. Sef, the boss of the notorious slave ring, finally captures her and makes her fight in the death matches in the Gladiatorial ring. Meanwhile, a group of human freedom fighters form a resistance to the occupying Visray and seek to try and protect their families from the oppressive and cruel rule of the Visray Section Commander Sorrentine.

The fate of the humans on Draiga becomes entwined with that of the last Sarnian, Azura.

Fay leads a cast that includes some of the UK’s best-of-the-best in screenfighting and martial arts, with Lauren Okadigbo, Yennis Cheung, Cheryl Burniston, John Robb, Daniel Everett-Lock, Joelle Simpson, Mike Collin, Brendan Carr and Sam Gannon rounding out the cast. Watch the teaser below and keep your eyes peeled as post-production moves forward.
