Check Out A Few Clips For Martial Arts Revenge Film, BRUTAL!

Okay, stop. Stop everything. Stop right now, because I have been waiting a while to share this news while trying to contact the company responsible for the brilliant action footage I am about to share with you. I was a little depressed that this footage went under my radar in the past four months, but I am VERY happy to share this a month after it has been online so I can discuss it.

The film is called BRUTAL, and to describe how good these clips are, the promo reel was what did it for me. I literally beat my thigh black and blue with the excitement of a little kid who just got three boatloads of early Christmas gifts and a winning lottery ticket, all in a gift box made of chocolate…WRAPPED in chocolate.

I guess France is good like that. 🙂

From what I learned so far, the film stars Franck Beaini, Jamel Ouadah, Kevin Remi, Daniel Barrier and Sonia Lozanov, and was a team effort in creating along with Daniel, who co-choreographed the film’s action sequences with Franck, who happens to be a former Tae Kwon Do champion. Dubbed as a martial arts action thriller about “the dark side of Marseille”, the film boasts no use of CGI or wirework, and is being described as a classic revenge story about a martial artist who takes on Marseille’s criminal underworld to find the man responsible for his father’s death thirty years earlier.

BRUTAL is looking to become another history maker in martial arts action cinema as it heads its way to a hopeful release sometime in July. The team at ABM Films will be heading to the film festival circuit over at Cannes to help sell the film to other markets this May, so hopefully we will get some good news about distribution in a couple of months.

Currently the film has completed its post production, after filiming independently with a budget of only fifty dollars in the course of eight Sundays; Daniel also plans to shoot some more action scenes that were in an original draft. Those scenes are expected to be shot in June with Jamel, Franck and a Thai boxer. Danny and the team are also working on another martial arts feature film set in the Wild West, and it will be loaded with Kung Fu, Tae Kwon Do, French Savate and more. So, with a lot of things in development, hopefully we will see about these films down the line soon enough.

In the meantime, check out the trailer for BRUTAL, and then feast your eyes on the glorious three and a half minute promo reel loaded with beautiful brutality and action below.

And then go have smoke in case you need it. I would not blame you. 😉

Remember to follow the film on Facebook as well!
