Well Go USA is headlining all week this week with releases from now through next month. Chinese animated Ne Zha sequel, Jiang Ziya, bows in time for the Chinese New Year festivities next month and you can click here to check out the official trailer.
On the home front, we have a pair of disc and digital titles arriving to store shelves within the span of one week, firstly with First Love, which was one of Takashi Miike’s most fantastic outings following its director’s fortnight premiere last year. The Rotten Tomatoes’ Golden Tomato Award recipient for Best Reviewed Action & Adventure Film in 2019 opens in Japan next month, while Well Go USA managed to snag U.S. rights earlier on during festival season, and you can read my review by clicking here.
The second title comes straight from Marco Mak in his own treatment of late for the role of martial arts legend Wong Fei-Hung in Warriors Of The Nation. 26 years since, the role continues its shelf life by way of actor and action star Zhao Wenzhuo who has kept up the habit in recent memory in films like The Unity Of Heroes and Kung Fu League.
