CREED III – New BTS Images Released

The anticipated third instalment of the “Creed” franchise is nearly upon us with a set USA release of 27th February with the UK following shortly after on 3rd March. With Michael B. Jordan reprising his role as Adonis Creed son of the famous Apollo Creed, but also taken on the huge challenge of his directorial debut. In the previous two films we indulged in the relationship between his fathers former rival turned best friend Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) and his rise to glory inside the ring with Rocky’s help and guidance. This time round we won’t be treated to any Rocky nostalgia which has left some fans a little deflated. With recent comments from Sylvester explaining his frustration and anger over the handling of the rights of “Rocky” explaining it has been an “rough, emotional ride” which points to the fact he has most likely closed that chapter of his life for good. Despite all this “CREED III” is shaping up nicely with a fresh storyline involving one of Adonis old childhood friends Damian played by Jonathan Majors. Here is the full synopsis –

Still dominating the boxing world, Adonis Creed is thriving in his career and family life. When Damian, a childhood friend and former boxing prodigy resurfaces after serving time in prison, he’s eager to prove that he deserves his shot in the ring. The face-off between former friends is more than just a fight. To settle the score, Adonis must put his future on the line to battle Damian — a fighter who has nothing to lose.

Today MGM have released fresh behind the scenes shots of Michael B. Jordan in both his roles as Adonis and the director which is answering any of the naysayers that he can handle the business in front and behind the camera.

From this first look behind the scenes featurette it seems Michael B. Jordan has serious passion for the character Adonis Creed and wants to tell his story in the best way possible. With Sylvester Stallone stepping back from the franchise, the mantle has truly been passed to Michael B. Jordan and he has big shoes to fill. Will he continue the legacy the way fans want it or will the big hole left by the iconic “Rocky” character be too deep to fill, only time to will tell.
