DOG DAY EVENING: Don’t Miss The Trailer For Mak Tin Shu’s Black Comedy Coming This Summer

Mak Tin Shu’s new satirical crime comedy, Dog Day Evening had its global premiere at the 28th Shanghai International Film Festival. The film, starring Michael Ning, Pui Tung Mak, Rachel Leung, and Fish Liew, Nina Paw, and Tse Kwan Ho, will be released in Hong Kong and Macau SAR on June 18 followed by its Chinese Mainland rollout June 27.

Written by Mak, Dog Day Evening is described as a “sharp dark comedy inspired by a true story that exposes the frustrations and absurdities of modern customer service mentality.” The movie follows a disgruntled paid TV customer who takes matters into his own hands when he seizes the paid network he’s subscribed to in a desperate effort to bypass bureaucracy and cancel his subscription. The standstill escalates with the arrival of police and hostage negotiators who suspect he’s a terrorist.
