DOGMA: Help Wuji Films Bring Their New Urban Crime Drama Series To Life

Look up at any certain point in the history of The Hit List and you’ll be certain to spot the names, Joshua Zacharias and Bronson Cameron. They’re back in the spotlight for their Winnepeg-based Wuji Films independent film banner where they are now stepping it up with a new Indiegogo campaign for dramatic crime series, Dogma.

Penned by Zacharias, Dogma is based on true events and set in New York City’s Chinatown during one of America’s biggest spikes in Chinese immigration history. Young half Chinese/American Johnny Lo is a societal outcast, walled-off by the people he once called “family”. He must soon come face-to-face with enemies on all sides, including from within, in a story that treads a bygone era of the city’s criminal underbelly, ultimately confronting the dark reality of what it really means for Asian immigrants to pursue the American dream.

“This is an extremely important and personal project to me, as it’s based on the true events of someone who was very close to me.” says Zacharias who also stated he’s been hard at developing the series for up to six years. “This show is going to be like nothing you’ve ever seen before, as we’re bringing an intense level of action to the gritty streets of new york. I promise this is something you want to see.”

Zacharias and Cameron have spent a great deal of the show’s same period of development crafting snackable, hard-hitting short-duration action content. They’re looking to apply their craft on a broader template which Zacharias vocally envisions as an admirable cross between riveting gangster dramas like Menace II Society and Boyz N The Hood, and notable Chinese triad/martial arts cop thrillers such as Special ID and Flash Point.

The film duo are no strangers to the festival scene where they’ve earned their accolades, nor to the style of action they’re demanding either. Apart from The Hit List, you are welcome to bear witness to their craft on YouTube, and if you’re keen on contributing to Wuji Films and supporting their cause, then Dogma awaits your generous endorsement at Indiegogo.
