Donnie Yen Knuckles Up In A New Poster For KUNG FU JUNGLE

Martial arts action superstar Donnie Yen’s latest film finally got some official mainstream poster art for its upcoming release. Directed by Teddy Chen, the new film Kung Fu Jungle had its share of confusing name changes dating back to last year between previous working titles like Last Of The Best, One Person’s Martial Arts Circle and the more redundant of the four, Kung Fu Killer. This weekend, however, as promotion for the film took on the title of Kung Fu Jungle, film’s lead action star and action director Donnie Yen posted the official first poster for the film below, which also concludes the film’s September 2014 release:

SYNOPSIS:

A vicious killer is going round Hong Kong killing top martial arts exponents. When convicted killer and kung fu expert, Xia hears of this, he offers to help the police catch the killer, in return for his freedom. However, the canny and lethal killer eludes them again and again. Although the latter has made it quite clear that Xia would be his ultimate challenge, Xia refuses to be drawn into a life or death duel – until the killer threatens the woman he loves most.

Yen is still a busy working man with a handful of films in development, production and post-production, including Dragon City, The Master, the second chapter to Iceman 3D, the current production of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Destiny with director Yuen Wo-Ping and a few others. So while this year’s first chapter of Iceman 3D didn’t exactly bode well with a lot of fans and critics, Kung Fu Jungle is a different film altogether, so with any luck, the new film will be a step closer to getting some jaded Yen fans back on board.

Kung Fu Jungle stars Yen along with fellow Iceman 3D co-star, Wang Baoqiang who plays the villain. They are joined by Charlie Yeung, and a smorgasbord of Asian action cinema veterans and favorites alike, including Fan Siu-Wong, Shi Yanneng (Xing Yu), Alex Fong, David Chiang and many more.
