DOOR MOUSE: Avan Jogia’s Debut Noir Finishes Filming For Highland Ahead Of World Sales

Actor Avan Jogia is ready for his close-up in the director’s chair following the April 12 production launch of his feature debut, Door Mouse. Highland Film Group is announcing the film’s completion and acquisition for world sales ahead of the Marche du Film.

Door Mouse stars Hayley Law (Echo Boomers, Netflix’s Altered Carbon) and Keith Powers (Straight Outta Compton, What/If). Billed as a stylish neo-noir thriller, the film centers on Mouse (Law), an aspiring comic book artist stuck in a dead-end job working all-nighters at Mama’s Burlesque Club, doing nothing with her life and going nowhere. When a friend from work goes missing and the cops do nothing about it, Mouse and her sidekick, Ugly (Powers) take it upon themselves to find out what happened to her. What they discover is that corruption runs deep, monsters are real, and that sometimes, justice is meant to be taken into your own hands.

Famke Janssen (X-Men franchise, Taken trilogy) plays Mama, who encourages Mouse to pursue her real passion of making comics. Donal Logue (The Cloverfield Paradox, Zodiac, Blade) also stars

Kyle Mann from Independent Edge and Jason Ross Jallet (Two Lovers and a Bear) from Cause and Effect Entertainment are producing, with JoBro Productions’ Jonathan Bronfman (The Witch), Drive Films, Michael Risley (The New Romantic), Goldush Entertainment’s Eric Gozlan (A Score to Settle, Most Wanted), and Nathan Klingher (One Way, Supercell) exec producing; Jogia and Law previously collaborated with Mann and Jallet for their SXSW 2018 Special Jury Award-winning movie The New Romantic. Additional Funding came from Telefilm Canada, Northern Ontario Heritage Fund, and Ontario Creates.

Jogia will next appear in Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City, and is repped by ICM Partners, LINK, The Characters Agency, and Jackoway Tyerman et al; He will be joined by Logue in the same Johannes Roberts-directed action horror reboot coming in November. Logue also co-authored Danny Trejo’s memoir, “My Life of Crime, Redemption and Hollywood”, which will be released in July by Simon and Schuster.

Law, who is expected to appear in Mark, Mary & Some Other People from writer/director Hannah Marks, is repped by Paradigm and Management 360. Powers, who will be seen alongside Chris Pratt in Amazon’s The Tomorrow War this summer, is repped by Paradigm and Megan Silverman Management.
