DRAGON BLADE Gets New Promo Pics And A BTS Featurette

Hopefully it won’t be before long that we get to see a teaser for international action star Jackie Chan‘s new period fantasy actioner, Dragon Blade. The film is due out in IMAX and 3D on February 19, 2015 overseas, and with any luck it will get the same big screen treatment in other territories, as many fans might hope since its been a rarity to see a 3D Chan film outside of China as of late.

In the meantime, new promotional images are floating around online which you can now check out below, in addition to a recently-released behind-the-scenes featurette from MTime. The film is one in a few new titles on the way featuring Chan (see Stanley Tong’s Kung Fu Yoga) otherwise assuring that the 60-year old big brother of the Hong Kong film industry and arbiter of all things cinematic in action and comedy (and as of this week, science) isn’t going away anytime soon.
SYNOPSIS

In 48BC, during the Han Dynasty, Roman general Lucius (John Cusack) crosses into China after being accused of treason. In the Gobi Desert, he fights and then befriends Huo An (Jackie Chan), a once high-ranking commander, who has been framed by corrupt court officials and forced into slavery. The encounter ignites a thrilling piece of history that has never before been told.

The film is directed by Daniel Lee with John Cusack and Adrien Brody also starring. Check out all eight new images and previous character posters, in addition to the featurette (you may need Firefox to view the video).
