ECHO: ‘F8’ Director To Produce Video Game Adaptation From ‘John Wick’ Trilogy Screenwriter

The Fate Of The Furious and Straight Outta Compton helmer F. Gary Gray is segueing into live-action video game territory for Ultra Ultra’s first 2017 game, Echo. Gray will produce through alongside dj2 Entertainment (Sonic The Hedgehog) from a script to be penned by upcoming The Man From Nowhere remake scribe Derek Kolstad.

Echo centers on En, a traveler who joruneys to a planet where she believes she can revive a dead loved one trapped in a cube strapped to her back. Upon entering in a palace that periodically blacks out, her labyrinth journey soon pits her with echoes created by the palace which act based on her recorded actions, essentially learning how to kill her each time.

Gray is producing via his Fenix Studios’ banner which has a development deal with Starlight Culture Entertainment Group. His next outing will be MIB: International, opening on June 14.

Kolstad has been rightly busy blowing minds on the screen with his commitment to the John Wick franchise, the latest of which arrives on May 17 with John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. (Deadline)
