FIVE-A-DAY COUNTDOWN: The Kitchen, Artemis Fowl, Kill-Fist, Men In Black: International, and URI: The Surgical Strike

The final week has arrived with the last remaining 25 of 100 titles to look out for in 2019. Here we go!…

The Kitchen: Andrea Berloff’s graphic novel adaptation stars Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish and Elisabeth Moss as three 1978 Hell’s Kitchen housewives who take the Irish mafia’s matters into their own hands when their mobster husbands are sent to prison by the FBI. Warner Bros. Pictures offered a first look at the film last week which you can view below:

Artemis Fowl: Director Kenneth Branagh’s latest Eoin Colfer adaptation follows the 12-year-old genius descendant of a long line of criminal masterminds who he finds himself in a battle of strength and cunning against a powerful, hidden race of fairies who may be behind his father’s disappearance. Ferdia Shaw leads the cast of the new fantasy adventure which opens on August 9.

Kill-Fist: Director James Lee’s newest action drama shelled out a pretty robust and quick production that wrapped in late Spring and is now on par for festival circulation. Promitional gems such as trailers and posters will arrive by then, host to the story of two men cornered by woeful circumstances into partaking in a deadly underground fighting tournament where the victor wins a cash prize based on rank. Sunny Pang, Alan Yun and Koe Yeet star. Date pending.

Men In Black: International: Abstaining from the absurdity of a 21 Jumpstreet crossover (at least for now), the Men In Black franchise is returning once more for an epic spin-off that reunites Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson as members of the London-based branch of secret clandestine crime fighting agents monitoring alien life here and abroad. Opening June 14.

URI: The Surgical Strike: Ripped from the headlines, Aditya Dhar’s Ronnie Screwvala-produced military drama focuses on the deadly 2016 attack on an Indian town by four armed militants, and the mission set forth by the Indian military to stop them. January 11.
