FLY BY NIGHT Lands Online With Two New Posters

Planet Films is high on momentum for the next month and change with the upcoming release of Zahir Omar’s directorial debut, Fly By Night. He’s got himself a few new posters making the rounds courtesy of Planet Films, host to laurels from its Busan XXIII debut and Macao premiere late last year, and to its credit, the Asian Cinema Fund stamp of approval as its 2018 beneficiary from July (scroll down to view).

The film also held its ground at the Jogja-NETPAC Film Festival in Indonesia, as well as this year’s events in Santa Barbara and at the NYAFF’s inaugural Winter Showcase in New York City. Sunny Pang (Headshot, The Night Comes For Us) leads the suspenseful Kuala Lumpur-set heist thriller about a taxi company secretly targeting rich passengers to extort, only to find themselves thrown by external circumstances and forced to escalate their criminal activities to pay off their debts.

“The movie draws inspiration on the notion of ‘Nothing is what it seems’. It gives a fresh outlook on the possible double lives of the people we meet, specifically cab drives whom we entrust in taking us from one point to another without really knowing who they truly are” said director Zahid Omar.

“As ambitious local film makers and producers, we are thrilled at the kind of recognition this Malaysian film is receiving, these recognitions are a stepping stone for us to keep improving and bring local films to an international arena. We are honoured to be representing the Malaysian film industry globally and be able to carry the Malaysian flag strong and proud.” said Executive Producer, Perin Petrus.

Also starring are Fabian Loo, Jack Tan, Eric Chen, Ruby Faye, Bront Palarae, Joyce Harn and Frederick Lee. Check out the posters below, and feel free to catch up with my review of the film as well.
