Gary Shore To Direct Vampiric Revenge Thriller, RED RIVER

Dracula Untold helmer Gary Shore isn’t ready to let go of vampire lore just yet. News right out of Cannes has the movie, Red River, attaching Shore to direct later this year hailing from 23ten, Generator Entertainment and Tempo in association with XYZ Films, who are executive producing and selling internationally.

Written by BAFTA and Oscar-nominated scribe Ronan Blaney, the film is described as a thriller set in an isolated Ireland town where a bloodthirsty drifter finds himself avenging the loved one of an immigrant family he befriends earlier on. Mark Huffam (The Martian, Alien: Covenant) will produce along with Piers Tempest (Piers Tempest) and 23ten’s own Martin Brennan and Michael B. Jackson.

via Deadline:

“A story about a vampire hell-bent on teaching an isolated town a thing or two about its treatment of outsiders is a valuable reminder that man is capable of being the real monster,” said Shore. “I love Ronan’s script – heartbreaking, violent and touching all at once. With influences like High Plaines Drifter, Shane and Let The Right One In, it’s definitely an original in the genre with the potential to be a modern classic.”

Huffam added: “We’re delighted to be teaming up with Gary on Red River. We all believe he is the perfect fit for bringing this incredible Ronan Blaney script to life.”
