Marvel is keeping with its Hulu consumer base with two new live action series dramas set for next year with Marvel’s Ghost-Rider and Marvel’s Helstrom.
Ingrid Escajeda will serve as showrunner for Marvel’s Ghost Rider which will focus on the Robbie Reyes incarnation of the character which first took off in 2014. Described as the quintessential antihero, the story is set along the Texas/Mexico border. Consumed by hellfire and supernaturally bound to a demon, Robbie brings vengeance for the innocents he encounters when he unleashes the Rider, but struggles controlling the power he wields.
Escajeda, will exec produce as will Paul Zbyszewski and Marvel Television’s Jeph Loeb.
“I couldn’t be more excited and honored to be handed the reins to a Marvel character as beloved as GHOST RIDER. This story hits every note for me—my love for grounded yet conflicted characters and my desire to scare the $&!# out of people! It’s important to me to find a take that thrills existing fans as well as wider audiences and I believe we’ve done just that,” said Executive Producer and Showrunner, Ingrid Escajeda.
For Marvel’s Helstrom, the story centers on siblings Daimon and Ana Helstrom, the son and daughter of a mysterious and powerful serial killer. They have a complicated dynamic as they track down the worst of humanity—each with their attitude and skills. The aforementioned Zbyszewski will serve as showrunner as well as exec produce with Loeb serving as exec producer.

I think we’ve found a compelling way to dissect some of our deepest fears through the experiences of our two lead characters.”

Both shows hail from Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios, adding to the growing live-action and animated line-up for the streaming service that includes upcoming season three of Marvel’s Runaways, and the recently-announced Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K., Marvel’s Hit Monkey, Marvel’s Tigra & Dazzler Show, and Marvel’s Howard the Duck, and their penultimate event series, Marvel’s The Offenders.
