Big Bad Wolves duo Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado may have hit a sour note at the chance of directing a Death Wish film in recent memory, but they’re still keeping busy with other interests.

Their latest? Gunpowder Milkshake, nabbed by Studiocanal and The Picture Company last Spring and, according to Deadline at the time, aimed as “a high-concept action-thriller with a rich mythology, a female protagonist, and franchise potential.”

On Tuesday, word broke exclusively from The Hollywood Reporter that the production has found its lead in Jumanji and MCU franchise co-star, actress Karen Gillian. The duo penned the script with Ehud Lavski, with plot details alluding to more under-the-radar plot treatment, save for its description as being in the assassin genre in a story that spans multiple generations.

Kit does note a vision and tone likened to that of a mix of Kill Bill and Baby Driver are the aim with the maxim being “stylish, snappy and violent”, and bearing franchise potential.

My guess is if the reporting is more discretionary, then plot details may change frombprevious citations I otherwise won’t mention here. At any rate, Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman will produce through their Studiocanal-based The Picture Company banner.

Production will commence in the Spring once Gillian wraps Jumanji 2 in February according to the report. The actress is set to reprise her role as Nebula in Avengers: Endgame on April 26.
