Henry Golding Lines Up In-House Action Film Productions HARRINGTON’S GREATEST HITS And THE INHERITANCE

Crazy Rich Asians and upcoming The Gentlemen actor Henry Golding is taking the producers’ mantle for a pair of action projects. Both hail from the launch of his newly-established Long House Productions according to Mia Galuppo and Rebecca Ford at THR.

First up starring Golding is Harrington’s Greatest Hits from a reimagined Black List script by Dutch Southern. The film tells of an elite, aging assassin who finds himself marked for death by the arms-dealing father of a former target. Veteran TV director James Strong (Amazon’s Vanity Fair, Broadchurch) will sit at the helm.

Producers include Damian Jones at DJ Films and Kelly McCormick and David Leitch at 87North with Annie Marter exec producing, and U.K.’s Great Point Media providing development financing.

Golding is also slated to star in and produce The Inheritance, based on an idea from himself and screenwriter Alistair Hudson. The projects are enjoined in a new pact signed between Long House and China’s Starlight Cultural Entertainment Group, Dream in Dream and Above the Clouds Films.

Starlight was a co-investor in Crazy Rich Asians, which earned $238 million at the global box office. The company has since signed Golding as the first actor to their $100 million development and production fund which launched last year with deals enlisting directors like James Wan, Jon M. Chu, Sam Raimi, F. Gary Gray, Roland Emmerich, Robert Zemeckis, Jerry Bruckheimer and Simon Kinberg.

“Henry is the only actor/producer with a deal here, because we see him as a class of one,” said Starlight CEO and ATC Managing Director Peter Luo, who announced the pact with Golding.

Added Golding: “For me, it’s the real passion we all have for entertaining and telling stories. I am excited to bring the unique stories that come from my experiences and the time I’ve spent living in Asia, London, America, and all over the world, to the movies that I work on and the material I look forward to developing. Working with Peter and everybody at Starlight, we are able to make that possible.”
