Stuntman and filmmaker Kazuhiro Yokoyama‘s new film, High Kick Angels, is getting some noticably positive attention from Japan filmgoers and some approving critics online following its Friday release. Of course, time will tell how the film does on a commercial level, and if whether or not there may even be another film in the franchise, and one can only hope as long as those sentiments are shared.
Let’s hope the film goes stateside soon so that everyone can get a glimpse at writer and High Kick auteur Nishi Fuyuhiko’s newest contribution to martial arts action cinema. For now though, the film is for Japan eyes only, so let’s see what future reviews suggest.
In the meantime, the film also earned some more poster art which you can check out below, including character posters featuring leading ladies Kanon Miyohara, Mayu Kawamoto, Nagashima Hirona, Ito Risako and Kaede Aono, the latter whom for some reason or another finds herself battling zombies in the following video available on Sony Digital’s Youtube platform; It might be part of the initial film’s plot in some way or another, although I don’t really know for certain. At any rate, Aono taking on hordes of zombies for whatever reason wins my heart any day.
