HOMEFRONT Gets A Release Date

Jason Statham is on the course to dazzle and amaze audiences once more this year in the upcoming action thriller, Homefront, directed by Gary Fleder with writer/co-producer and fellow Expendables co-star Sylvester Stallone on board. According to Deadline, the film, also starring James Franco, has been acquired for distribution by Open Road Films and is slated for an October 4, 2013 release.

The film, based on the novel by author Chuck Logan, is being described as “a smart, suspenseful, action-packed thriller” which focuses on a widowed ex-DEA agent who retires to a small town for the sake of his 10-year-old daughter, where he ends up tangling with the local meth druglord. Winona Ryder, Kate Bosworth, and Frank Grillo also star in the film, also produced by Kevin King Templeton and John Thompson. Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson, and Mark Gill are the executive producers.
Statham is currently slated to star in the North American release of Redemption from writer/director Steven Knight on June 28, 2013. No word yet on whether or not he will return for The Expendables 3 with Stallone.
Stay tuned for updates on the film, including a trailer hopefully to arrive as soon as humanly possible. In the meantime, while the embed below isn’t the trailer itself, it makes for a great way to pass the time. Especially if you love watching Statham kicksmack the crap out of people and blow $h!t up. Enjoy!
