HOUSE OF NINJAS Netflix Series Drama About Modern Day Ninjas Announces Cast

From Today, It’s My Turn!! star Kento Kaku is one of a sextet of headliners formally announced on Thursday for the new Netflix series, House Of Ninjas. The cast also lists Yosuke Eguchi (Rurouni Kenshin franchise), Tae Kimura (Wilderness: Part 1 and Part 2), Kengo Kora (Shoplifters, Aristocrats), Aju Makita (Pure Japanese), and Nobuko Miyamoto (BL Metamorphosis, The Tale Of Princess Kaguya)

Dave Boyle (Big Dreams Little Tokyo, Man From Reno) is directing from a script he penned with Masahiro Yamaura, Kota Oura, and Kanna Kimura, based on a story created by Kaku along with Yoshiaki Murao, Takafumi Imai. Here is the logline: Ninjas were a fixture of milestones in Japanese history, and even now they’re taking on secret missions behind the curtain of Japanese society. Set in modern Japan, this series tells the story of the Tawara family, the last ninja family that had abandoned its roots after a certain incident in the past who must take on the greatest crisis in Japanese history that threatens to shake the nation to its core.

According to the streamer, the show will fuse “spy elements of ninjas taking on top secret missions with a family drama about a group of colorful family members.”

Kanbe Akira (Orange, Let Me Eat Your Pancreas) is producing with Netflix’s Yoshihiro Sato exec producing, and Kaku serving as co-exec producer.

House Of Ninjas hails from TOHO Studio and will premiere on Netflix in 2024.
