INVISIBLE TATTOO Inks A New Trailer For The Vincent Zhao Actioner

It’s funny recalling director Lu Yitong’s long-awaited period actioner, Invisible Tattoo, as it had already begun its campaign with a brief teaser as early as December 2017 when I initially posted it on my blog.

As for its long, dragged-out wait, your guess is as good as mine, in which case, I’m willing to bet it was the politics – be it the sea change of the Chinese government and its extemporaneous affect on the film industry up to now. This goes for plenty other titles long since completed and yet to be released, in my opinion, which will never not be a sad thing to ponder, ever.

At any rate now though, folks who’ve been waiting to see what actor and martial arts star Vincent Zhao has to offer here can now sample some in the latest trailer now running online this week. Zhao stars as Achang, a tatoo artist in 1935 who also serves as a member of a clandestined unit of rebels battling Japanese invaders. He suddenly finds himself in a new fight when he’s soon thrown into a whirlwind of conspiracy by mysterious forces…

That’s about as much as I could sensibly sum up from translating online Chinese media posts, as far as story details go. We also have a poster which you may view below announcing the film’s January 14 release.

Invisible Tattoo also stars Xu Dongdong, Li Mincheng, Sang Ping, Sawada Ken, Juliet Gama and Wang Shengdi, and freerunning stunt extraordinare David Belle.
