IP MAN 4 Casts Scott Adkins

If the recent, explosive trailer for Egyptian actioner, Karmouz Wars, wasn’t enough to get your blood pumping, take heed of actor, action star and celebrated “Boyka” screen persona, Scott Adkins who just blew more minds via Instagram hailing his addition to Ip Man 4 with reprising star/director duo Donnie Yen and Wilson Yip. Details on his role weren’t made available nor any other casting names, although the plot does hint at the return of a young Bruce Lee previously played by Danny Chan in the 2016 third installment.

Ip Man (Donnie Yen) has been living a peaceful life teaching Wing Chun. One of Ip’s students, Bruce Lee decides to open a Wing Chun school in the States. The local Kung Fu masters are not happy about it. Ip goes to the States and helps Lee to resolve the problems. Meanwhile, Ip also teaches Lee how to become a real Wing Chun master. Ip gains respect from China town and all across the States. He spreads the theory of Chinese Kung Fu to society and makes it popular in the world…

The film hails from sales and distro banner Pegasus Motion Pictures Distribution LTD. which also houses Master Z: Ip Man Legacy which spins-off the third film with appearances by Michelle Yeoh, Tony Jaa and title star Max Zhang. That film is directed by Ip Man 3 action director Yuen Woo-Ping (Gong Shu Dao) who also reprises Ip Man 4 which reunites him with Adkins since Black Mask 2: City of Masks and the Louis Leterrier-directed Unleashed – a.k.a. Danny The Dog (2005).

Adkins’ latests include a DVD release for Jesse V. Johnson’s action crime romp, The Debt Collector on June 5, and Eric Zargoza’s Incoming from XLrator Media.
