JCVD Hates Guns But Will Kill You With His Bare Hands In The New Trailer For ENEMIES CLOSER!

It’s funny, whenever I see actors Tom Everett Scott and Orlando Jones, I think about that drummer from That Thing You Do and the actor from the syndicated sketch comedy series, Mad TV. Scott and Jones are the last two people you would expect to see in a movie starring opposite Jean-Claude Van Damme as two former military servants at odds with each other amidst the emergence of a murderous drug smuggler and his small army.

Well, director Peter Hyams in his latest return to the set with the Belgian epic Volvo truck splitter since their previous time together on the set of Timecop and Sudden Death, made it happen once again for the forthcoming North American release of the new thriller, Enemies Closer. And after releasing an international trailer a few months ago, we now have a new viral trailer making the rounds courtesy of Yahoo! Movies, which shares more of the narrative shared between our two conflicted protagonists and their newfound foe.
Van Damme‘s segments here are beyond words one could use to lend credit to him as an actor who has managed to rebrand himself to an immense degree as an action star since appearing in Peter’s son, John Hyams’s 2010 spin-off of the Universal Soldier: Regeneration, and the 2012 blockbuster follow-up, Universal Soldier: Day Of Reckoning to name a few. And for those of you just now catching on, January 24, 2014 is the theatrical and digital U.S. release date, so mark your calendars and save your money.
Enemies Closer is also now available in German markets with a December 4 date set for France.

SYNOPSIS:

After a major shipment of drugs goes missing on the US-Canadian border, forest ranger and former Navy SEAL Henry is plunged into survival mode when the drug cartel forces him to help retrieve the downed package. Trapped in the wilderness with no communication to the outside world, Henry finds himself face to face with Clay, a man with a personal vendetta against Henry who has returned for retribution. Now, the two mortal enemies must make a choice: put aside their past and work together, or die alone at the hands of the drug runners, a ruthless gang who will stop at nothing to retrieve their lost cargo.
