Joe Manganiello Unveiled As BATMAN’s Mercenary Nemesis In The Upcoming Movie

It was a little over a week ago that actor Ben Affleck teased the infamous assassin, Deathstroke on social media. It wasn’t very clear at the time about who was underneath the iconic two/toned costume though it was initially suspected that he would appear in Zack Snyder’s Justice League which opens in November of 2017.

That said, we have the latest report from The Wall Street Journal to thank for unveiling True Blood and Magic Mike 1 & 2 co-star, actor Joe Manganiello as the man who will ultimately star in Ben Affleck’s upcoming solo Batman movie. The brainchild of Marv Wolfman and George Pérez, Deathstroke has been a mainstay in the DC comic book universe since debuting in 1980 and recurring in print, as well as in animation, video games, and live-action television on the CW’s Arrow and its spin-off, DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow.
Affleck, helmer of The Town and Fargo, is writing the script with co-scribe and DC creative chief Geoff Johns and will direct for an expected 2018 release following his current London schedule for the first of two Justice League. He stars in Warner Bros.’s crime thriller release, The Accountant which opens this October.
