Actor Keanu Reeves surged enormously into prominence with his performance in the 2014 action noir hit, John Wick. The film has since drawn a cult following as well as helped advance prospects for Hollywood stunt coordinators to take the helm on action pictures – namely Chad Stahelski and David Leitch who directed the first film.
The sequel is already underway after recently wrapping its New York shoot and is set to begin filming in Rome, Italy this week according to THR who are now reporting the film’s official title, John Wick: Chapter 2. Stahelski is making his solo directorial debut with Reeves joined by a cast of new and returning faces, including Common who will star as the chief villain working under a female crime boss; Also starring are Ruby Rose, Riccardo Scamarcio, Peter Stormare, Ian McShane, Bridget Moynahan, Lance Reddick, Tom Sadowski, John Leguizamo and (possibly) Lawrence Fishburne.
Leitch, fresh off of filming Focus Features’s The Coldest City in Budapest this Winter, is executive producing John Wick: Chapter Two with Thunder Road’s Basil lwaynk producing for a release now stamped on February 10, 2017, courtesy of Lionsgate.
