China Lion is sharing the weight staeside with releases in select U.S. cities for war epic, Liberation. The film is directed by Chang Xiaoyang Chang and Li Shaohong and is based on the real life events surrounding the explosive Battle Of Pingjin in January of 1949.
Liberation, which stars Wallace Chung, Zhou Yiwei, Yang Mi, Elaine Zhong and Phillip Keung among the cast, previously slated an October run before postponing the release until late last month in China. The film will open in Australia and New Zealand on January 9 before playing in New York City, Los Angeles and Boston on January 10.
