LOGAN THE WOLF: The Action Team Behind ‘The Witcher’ Teases ‘Ultraviolent’ Fan Short With BTS Stills

It’s not everyday you get word that a fine group of stunt performers are working on a little independent short project for themselves when they’re not on the set of a major studio gig. It’s also not everyday that you get an announcement via e-mail about said project, and Tuesday just happened to be that day for us and anyone else fortunate to be able to share the following info and stills of upcoming fan project, Logan The Wolf.

The short is billed as an ultra-violent, unofficial fan film from a group of stunt performers and action specialists over in France with Film Combat Syndicate favorite Godefroy Ryckewaert, best known of late for shorts like The Collector, and for his stunning television work as fight coordinator on Netflix hit series The Witcher and spin off, The Witcher: Blood Origin. Ryckewaert also handled key cinematography for the action points on Jimmy Henderson’s hit Cambodian action comedy, Jailbreak.

Filmed in four days in the forest of Fontainebleau near Paris, France, the shortfilm intends to explore one concept on the Marvel character that asks the question: “What would happen if Logan was alive during the Viking Age?”

Actor and cascadeur Maxime Ecoiffier (The Collector, The Witcher Blood Origin) plays Logan, and Laurent “Lohan” Buson (The Witcher S2, The Witcher Blood Origin, Merantau, Die Fighting) as Viggo, the leader of a group of Viking mercenaries hunting down a blood thirsty murderer claiming to be the Wolf God Fenrir’s son.

The remainder of the cast/stunt ensemble is comprised of the renowned Warlegends stunt team – professional stuntmen who specialize in historical European combat.

Logan The Wolf is expected to unleash the claws online this Spring. In the meantime, check out the behind-the-scenes stills below, with credit to Aurore Le Drean.
