On Tuesday, actor and martial artist Jeff Speakman took to his social media page to share an announcement for a new project titled Lost Echoes. The artwork signals fans that the film’s Kickstarter will launch on September 1, with Speakman captioning with “1991 was just the beginning. September 1st.” in his post.
The text, coupled with a cutout of Speakman in the teaser art, alludes to late director and producer Mark DiSalle’s 1991 action adventure, The Perfect Weapon, a Paramount Pictures release. The film launched Speakman briefly into Hollywood stardom before a change in leadership at the studio stalled his progress, ensuing a career that would move on to other projects from smaller labels.
Select credits with Speakman also include Street Knight, The Expert, Running Red, Hot Boyz, and Striking Range.
Plot details on Lost Echoes remain pending. Joe Gatto, whose brand is largely centric on comedy, is also known as the host of Pluto TV cooking show, “From Scratch”. He will direct Lost Echoes from a script by author and screenwriter Joe R. Lansdale, whose literary works inspired films like Jim Mickle’s Cold In July, and Elliott Lester’s The Thicket.
