Love Conquers All In The New Shortfilm, THE CONTROLLER

New out this month is a two-part science fiction, romantic action miniseries created by writer and independent filmmaker Saman Kesh and stars Luka Lu and Susan Hsu, with voice narration by Kent Chu. Both short films are the product of MARQ Films, with the former, I___U, serving as an easter egg prequel to latter, the main segment titled The Controller, which was also an entry in Machinima‘s 2nd Annual Film Festival this year, as reported on Tuesday by Kelly Miller over at Martial Arts Movie Junkie.

The Controller tells a visually stunning, artful, crisp, mind-bending pseudo-love story of a couple that becomes targeted when a telekinetic young woman kills a man. When she disappears, she protects her boyfriend by censoring his face while he locates her. And knowing the potential disaster that could result from her freedom, she forgoes the consequences and orchestrates her own rescue by controlling him, leading into a vivacious second act with an explosive, pulse pounding action sequence through an office building. Conclusively, beneath all of this, in essence, is a story that lends itself to the subtext of what love really is.
The action is explosive, and the story is very gripping and compelling from front to back, with stylistically executed elements of arthouse romance, horror, sci-fi and fantasy-based action that serves the needs of any action fan. Feel free to watch the short films in the comment section below.
