Reportedly two years in post-production according to Variety, director Lu Yang (Brotherhood Of Blades, Brotherhood Of Blades 2) is back in the headlines with long-awaited fantasy actioner, Assassin In Red. Long since incidentally having to wait out the Covid-19 pandemic that all but paralyzed Chinese film production until about month ago, the new film is currently readying a Lunar New Year release set for February 12, 2021.
In order to find his missing daughter, Guan Ning accepted a secret task from Tu Ling to assassinate an internet novelist. As Guan getting deeper involved in the mission, he found out that the novelist has an ability to influence the real world through his writing. There’s a parallel world connected to the reality.
Assassin In Red stars Lei Jiayin, Yang Mi and Dong Zijian, is produced by Ning Hao, and backed by CMC Pictures.
