LUPIN’S DAUGHTER Goes Places In The Official Trailer

Taken from the annals of manga history and Monkey Punch’s own staple that is the Lupin franchise, leave it to author Dai Yokozeki to follow suit with “Daughter Of Lupin”, a novel spin-off suited well for Kodansha in 2015. Landing enough of a hit for the likes of Fuji TV to garner a live-action series for two years from 2019, the next big step will certainly be a feature film that transitions actress Kyoko Fukuda’s title role onto the big screen in the aptly titled Lupin’s Daughter, from Nodame Cantabile and Thermae Romae vet, Hideki Takeuchi.

Takeuchi reteams with Fly Me To The Saitama scribe Yoichi Tokunaga for a story that finds the daughter of the “L family” (indicative of the legendary thief himself) unexpectedly falling in love with Kazuma Sakuraba (Koji Seto) who just so happens to be newest in a long familial line of police officers. What ensues is a testament of true love that gets enveloped into what should’ve been a long-awaited retirement and instead becomes an epic overseas heist thrillride, and it all rolls out in theaters firstly in Japan this Friday.
