Mark Wahlberg To Return In The Next TRANSFORMERS Movie

I think with at least four Transformer movies in, there’s still a ways to go before all moviegoers and critics will fully approve of Michael Bay’s handy work since the first film in 2007. That said, this doesn’t change the fact that Bay is still in Paramount Pictures’s good graces following last year’s billion dollar success of Transformers: Age Of Extinction, and that’s also something that lead actor Mark Wahlberg proudly attests to in his current run with the franchise.

As it stands, the actor reportedly confirmed his return to the fifth film in a recent red-carpet interview with CinePop upon attending a premiere of his latest film, Daddy’s Home. There’s nothing else to report at the moment in terms of cast and crew but there’s plenty of time for news to trickle ahead of the film’s 2017 release.
Iron Man writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway are writing the script with Black Hawk Down scribe Ken Nolan while Akiva Goldsman oversees a writer room that will map out at least four more sequels between now and 2026. Wahlberg’s workload currently consists of four titles with director Peter Berg: Deepwater Horizon, Boston bombing drama, Patriot’s Day, Mile 22 with Iko Uwais and Ronda Rousey and the TV show adaptation, The Six-Billion Dollar Man.
