Marvel Adds Three To PUNISHER Series, Re-Installs DAREDEVIL Co-Star (Pics)

Netflix

At the end of the day, it really was a matter of time after rumors began swirling of serial treatment for the Punisher on Netflix. This past Spring saw actor Jon Bernthal introducing the character viewers earlier this year in the second season of Marvel’s Daredevil opposite Charlie Cox, and the responses have been nothing short of approving from critics and fans alike.

As such, a series was greenlit in April this year and production is now underway, and as reported by several sources this year, continues the evolution of Frank Castle into the iconic crimefighting alter-ego as the series moves forward following Daredevil. Steve Lightfoot is showrunning and it is likely that just as Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage have done so far, Punisher will surely explore the anti-hero’s origins much more

With this, expect new characters to enter the fray and build Frank Castle’s violent, grim, semi-hinged and layered world of confliction between right and wrong. Marvel is announcing three new additions to the cast in order to build this world along with recent set miscellaneous photos accomodating Bernthal with the return of Daredevil series co-star, actress Deborah Ann Woll unveiled via Twitter this week which you can view at the very bottom.
