One of the biggest action franchises of our time is now extending its ceremony to stunt professional Wade Eastwood who just landed in the director’s chair for action thriller, Mister. Eastwood will make his debut at the helm from a script by Nicki Cortese and Nick Inglis, whose Bright White Light label, among its other tasks, is producing alongside John Wick franchise steward Thunder Road.
“When a man wakes up in a strange house covered in blood, he comes to realize his true identity while fighting off contract killers from his past – including everyone from his exes to his best friend. To get out, he teams up with his estranged daughter who has also ended up in the family business, but they will need to repair their relationship in order to survive.”
Production on Mister commences in the Fall for Eastwood who has more than thirty years under his belt in the stunt industry. As coordinator and second unit director his credits partly include Salt, World War Z, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, and 007: Spectre, as well as a handful of Tom Cruise vehicles, mostly including the last four installments of Paramount’s Mission: Impossible franchise; The latest, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, just screened Out Of Competition for the 78th Cannes Film Festival, and opens nationwide in theaters on May 23 from Paramount Pictures.
“After 30 years of directing the action unit on some of Hollywood’s most successful films, and spending the last 12 years working alongside Tom Cruise and being part of the last four Mission films, I knew I was ready to move into directing and took my time finding the right project, ultimately landing on Mister,” said director Wade Eastwood.
