MY PUNCH-DRUNK BOXER: Take A Jab At The First Official Poster For The Romantic Korean Sports Pic

MY PUNCH-DRUNK BOXER (2019)

Keep your eyes and ears close to the pulse of things and you’re bound to spot something pretty interesting. This trailer tease above for Jung Hyuk-Ki’s My Punch-Drunk Boxer certainly fits the bill with actor Um Tae-Goo (Veteran, A Taxi Driver) staking his claim in a lead role with actress Hye-ri (Monstrum) and Kim Hee-Won (The Merciless).

Um stars as Byung-gu, a down-and-out ex-professional boxer booted from the sport and resolved to doing odd jobs for a local gym. One day he gets the urge to get back in the ring and discovers he’s been diagnosed with “punch drunk syndrome” due to repeat concussions. Hye-ri plays Min-ji, a bubbly new gym member who volunteers to help Byung-gu, inspiring him to use his disability as an advantage toward perfecting his own style of Pansori Boxing.

CGV Arthouse is rolling out the new romantic boxing pic in October. Encore Inflight Limted is repping airline and world sales rights as the first official poster below makes the rounds. Peep it.
