This past week saw Entertainment Weekly break the news on Byran Balasco’s hit MMA drama series, Kingdom, which premiered from 2014 through 2017 for three seasons on DirecTV’s AT&T Audience Network. Set to stream on Netflix beginning July 1, Kingdom, from Endemol Studios, tells of the harrowing interpersonal relationships and family drama centered on Alvey Kulina (Frank Grillo), a fighting legend, and the owner of Venice, CA-based Navy St. MMA gym.

Also starring are Kiele Sanchez, Matt Lauria, Jonathan Tucker, Nick Jonas, Joanna Going, Natalie Martinez and Kirk Acevedo.

The streamer will also be accomodating a sixth season of tongue-in-cheek hit dark fantasy series, Lucifer, as announced by the show on Sunday. Originally premiering on FOX for three seasons, actor Tom Ellis commands the title character based on the DC Comics property in a story set in Los Angeles.

Rich, sex addicted and always living in the moment, Lucifer is pretty much bored and unhappy, feeling abandoned by God and since resigning his throne in Hell. When he meets beautiful and dogmatic detective Chloe Decker, it offsets an adventure for Lucifer, helping the LAPD to punish criminals (albeit in part by secretly revealing his true form), and ultimately discovering the very depths of his own evolution as the Devil himself walking among mere mortals.

Further starring Leslie Ann-Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, D.B. Woodside, Rachel Harris, Aimee Garcia and Tricia Helfer, Netflix picked up the series for a fourth season in 2018. Season five is currently set to premiere on August 21.
