Correction: When I shared the poster below, I was under the impression this was actor Very Tri Yulisman according to a cast listing I saw on Facebook. I tweeted Gareth several hours ago and this was his response: “@ghuwevans: @FCSyndicate not sure where that came from but it’s not from us and that’s not our actor for baseball bat man.” So, I bet we will see some more verifiable material in the days and months ahead.
It took me a while to gather just who this particular character was in this peculiar-looking character poster below floating around Facebook today promoting director Gareth Evans‘s latest urban Silat action martial arts blockbuster The Raid 2: Berandal. Well, after lots of googling and searching, I came to find out that the name of the individual with the brilliant physique branding a considerably threatening baseball bat and an inconspicuous tattoo on his shoulder is Very Tri Yulisman, one of the talented stunt performers who took part in the climatic action in The Raid: Redemption, during the drug lab scene.
Iko Uwais, Donny Alamsyah, Pierre Gruno and Yayan Ruhian return to the franchise along with Julie Estelle, Tio Pakusodewo, Kelly Tandiono, Cecep Arif Rahman, Alex Abbad, Fikha Effendi, Hengky Solaeman and many more. The film is produced by PT Merantau Films and XYZ Films, and is slated for a 2014 release with the North American title, The Raid: Retaliation, courtesy of Sony.
