Nicolas Benamou's French Road Flick, FULL SPEED Now In Post Production

French helmer Nicolas Benamou made headway in 2014 with his French comedy franchise, Babysitting, and its sequel is also a hit as of late last year. This, much to his credit, has set him on the path to something slightly different with the new road action dramedy, Full Speed, with backing by Marci Cherqui’s Chic Films and Thomas Langmann’s Oscar-winning La Petite Reine.

According to Variety, Benamou describes the film as largely reflective of his influences rooted in Todd Phillip’s 2010 roadie, Due Date with tones similar to Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris’s 2006 road dramedy, Little Miss Sunshine and Jan de Bont’s 1995 hit, Speed. The film itself will take place in real-time within a span of three hours, centered on an eccentric family going on a holiday, only to end up in a series of crises after their brand-new minivan gets stuck in cruise control at 80mph with no way to stop, and a tailback possibly looming at the other end of their road.
Full Speed currently stars Andre Dussollier and José Garcia with releasing in Germany via Wild Bunch Germany and Belga distributing in Belgium. Other Angle Pictures is representing the film internationally while a trailer remains on deck for airing soon.
