UPDATE (3:35pm EST): I’ve been told that home release date for Nightshooters has been pushed back again. The move marks a second delay following an initial July release that preceded a September 10 date. A new release date will arrive following its in-competition premiere in October.
PREVIOUS REPORT: Ascendant Releasing continues to lie in wait for the September 10 UK DVD and Digital home release of Marc Price’s new action comedy thriller, Nightshooters. Folks keen on a more larger-screen ceremony can expect to catch the new pic on October 6 and 7 bookending this year’s twenty-sixth annual Raindance Film Festival which commences on September 26.
Nominated for Best UK Feature at Raindance this year, the film centers on an amateur film crew forced to use their own means to fight and survive, when a grueling indie nightshoot sends them on a wild odyssey through a condemned tower block as they’re hunted by a murderous gang of arsonists after witnessing a brutal killing. Front and center for the brunt of the relentless screenfighting action on hand is rising martial arts star, actor Jean-Paul Ly in the wake of his explosive success of 2017 Cambodian hit film, Jailbreak.
Nightshooters has already been privy to early cast and private press screenings, so you can assure yourselves some serious review quoting from niche sites and other media. As for what can be said now, martial arts fans can expect nothing short of a fantastic time with this feature gem starring Ly with actors Adam McNab, Doug Allen and Nicky Evans, actresses Rosanna Hoult and Mica Proctor with Nick Aaron and Richard Sandling among the cast.
