Word from Deadline writes that WWE Studios has acquired the option to remake Norwegian slasher, Cold Prey. Amityville: The Awakening scribe Casey La Scala is scripting the film’s harrowing female-centric tale of a group of friends cornered by a maniacal killer in an abandoned lodge after skiing astray during their vacation.
La Scala is producing with WWE Studios President Michael Luisi is overseeing the prodiction with Marius Haugan executive producing. Roar Uthaug, currently helming Alicia Vikander’s starring vehicle in Tomb Raider for Warner Bros. and GK Films, directed the 2006 original which won Best Feature at Neuchâtel in 2007 while its sequels in 2008 and 2010 fared less under different directors.
