Now On Netflix: Chill With Veronica Ngo In Rescue Action Adventure, FURIE!

Furie

Vietnamese actress and producer Veronica Ngo has provided strong notoriety for herself in recent memory, from her local bearings in Vietnam to more mainstream fare in Hollywood.

Her latest 2019 release, Furie (titled Hai Phoung for its local release) is an explosive hit following its release in February and its North American crossover in March from Well Go USA Entertainment. The film is now available to watch on Netflix following its exclusive Netflix Asia release earlier this year.

In Furie, Ngo stars as a former gangster whose life in seclusion is upended by her daughter’s kidnapping. Low on time and no sign of help from the law, she will pillage and plunder through the seedy criminal underworld in a high-speed race against time to find and rescue her daughter before it’s too late.

My review is up since screening the film earlier this year and being delighted by Ngo’s continued prominence. That sentiment was also shared by Asian film fans attending the 18th New York Asian Film Festival this past June where Ngo was the recipient of the Daniel A. Craft Award for Excellence in Action Cinema.

It’s easy to become a fan of someone as talented as she is who not only has the business acumen to accomplish her feats, but also put in the work, and toil through the injuries it takes to make big, fight-scene heavy action films like this a success.

The film had some highly-skilled stunt professionals involved here as well, ultimately importing the likes of Marc David, Ben Yannick and Kefi Abrikh to construct and cohese the fight action and stunts to a workable and thrilling T.

The film has also been released in mainland China as of September 20.

Plop down on your most cozy area of booty comfort and invite yourself to something that will help you escape reality for a few hours. Better yet, if you haven’t seen newly-added Scott Adkins action drama Avengement yet, clock that one in and make it about three. Trust.
